In Olmedo, a small town in north-western Sardinia near Alghero, you can immerse yourself in the world of saffron, the gold of Sardinian gastronomy. 
This prized spice, with its unique and unmistakable flavour, enriches many typical dishes on the island. Learn all about the cultivation process, from the harvesting stages to its application in the kitchen and its numerous health benefits with an expert local guide. At the end of the tour, you will have the opportunity to taste typical flavoured products such as cheese and bread, inside a unique structure representing ancient Sardinian culture: su Pinnettu.

FARM

The experience takes place at a farm specialising in the organic cultivation of saffron, certified according to current regulations. Discover how the idea of growing this precious product came about through the guidance of a local expert, who will introduce you to the history of the farm and the organic cultivation method used. Delve into each stage of production and conclude the tour with a tasting of delicious local products.

TASTING

The tasting includes aged pecorino cheese and saffron bread, local dry sausage, water, a glass of red or white wine from the Sella e Mosca Estates, and saffron liqueur.
Options for coeliacs and lactose intolerant persons are available upon request to the number on the booking voucher.
