Description

If you are in the north west of Sardinia, you can not miss the tour of the beautiful Basilica of San Gavino in Porto Torres, a jewel and testimony of the Romanesque period in Sardinia and unique in Italy to have two apses faced. Dedicated to the martyrs Gavin, Proto and Gianuario, beheaded in 303 A.D. at the time of the Christian persecutions of the emperors Diocletian and Maximian, it keeps their relics in the underground crypt. With the help of the audio guides, you will make a real fascinating journey to the knowledge of the foundation of the Basilica and the events of the construction site of its factory, along with the sculptural evidence of beautiful works of art from the Middle Ages and Baroque.
