Discover the art of Sardinian myrtle in the Olbia territories for an authentic experience in the heart of eastern Sardinia.
You'll find yourself in a unique location overlooking the Gulf of Marinella, where you'll walk among the natural cultivations of myrtle selected with care and passion for generations. You will then visit the production workshop and discover how the berries become uniquely and distinctively scented liqueurs and the steam still where the harvesting and production cycle starting from the plants themselves will be explained. Expert guides will accompany you on this sensory experience culminating in a tasting of myrtle in combination with various products and an olfactory tasting of fine essential oils.
You will experience an irresistible journey through the flavors and scents of Sardinia!

IMPORTANT

It is possible to reach the meeting point only by car. It is not possible to get there by public transportation and it is not recommended to arrive by bike because of the slope of the road in the last section.

TASTING

The tasting is for ages 18 and up and it consists of tasting four types of myrtle:

berry myrtle: 2 cl in a suitable goblet, accompanied by small pieces of traditional pecorino cheese;
berry and leaf myrtle: 2 cl in a suitable goblet, accompanied by typical Sardinian artisanal cold cuts;
white myrtle: 2 cl in a suitable goblet, accompanied by dark chocolate;
myrtle and honey: 2 cl in a suitable goblet, served on artisanal ice cream (stracciatella or vanilla).

Myrtles can also be drunk by people with celiac disease.

This will be followed by an olfactory tasting that includes three 100% pure and natural essential oils available from myrtle, wild lavender, lentisk and rosemary, extracted in a steam current from leaves and flowers of local plants.

Children and young people aged 6 years to 17 years will be offered juice, a small snack with cheese, sausage and carasau bread, and ice cream.

EXTRA

By selecting EXTRA when booking, at an additional cost of €32, it will be possible to complement the tasting of a fifth myrtle: Riserva Sannai. This is the only myrtle in the world without added sweetener and with one year of stabilization, obtained from selected berries, whose cultivation consists exclusively of a hundred plants that produce just 300 grams of berries per plant per year. It will be served in a suitable 2 cl goblet and accompanied by aged Sardinian pecorino cheese.
If the extra tasting is booked, the experience will last a total of about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

AVAILABLE TIMES

The experience is available at hourly intervals in the morning from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and in the afternoon from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

PETS

Pets are allowed on a leash in open spaces but not in the production lab. You will also need to notify the guide of the presence of pets at the number on the Reservation Voucher before arriving at the meeting point.

Fantastic experience lead by Antonio and Jenny. It starts with a tour around the myrtle grove, a tour/explanation of their distillation process, followed by a tasting with a beautiful view over the hills to the ocean. The myrtle liquor was delicious and paired perfectly with local produce. The hosts were very attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend this experience, it was definitely a highlight of our holiday!

We had an incredible time at Mirto Sannai. Antonio and his wife are wonderfully kind and dedicated to their craft. The setting is beautiful, with a breathtaking view.
