Visit a berry distillery in Tempio Pausania, north-eastern Sardinia, for an experience that will delight the palate.
Your host and producer, Fabio, will welcome you to his property surrounded by greenery, at the foot of Mount Limbara, where you will breathe in the mountain air and learn about his unique products created in the distillery, whose history and secrets are linked to the creation of unique spirit drinks. They are made from wild berries such as blackberries, gooseberries, currants and arbutus, but above all from acorn, which has never been produced anywhere in the world and is the result of passion and years of study to refine the technique.
The tasting will be accompanied by typical Sardinian sweet and savoury products, for an intoxicating experience recommended both to enthusiasts and to those who wish to approach this world of new and unparalleled flavours for the first time.
After the meeting with the guide, everyone will drive about 1.5 km to reach the company in their own car, so it is necessary to be self-equipped.
The company, the only one in Sardinia in the cultivation and sale of fresh berries, is located in the countryside of Tempio Pausania, at the foot of Monte Limbara, amidst olive trees and berry plants.
It was established following in-depth studies of the climate and the nature of the terrain, the search for innovative initiatives for the territory, and the need to use the surplus of berries, the result of a painstaking selection process that gave rise to three different distillates:
The guided experience begins with a short walk through the berry orchard and an explanation of the berry distillate.
Afterwards, upon entering the distillery, the guide will tell about the strawberry distillate and briefly introduce the small farm.
This will be followed by an explanation of the acorn distillate and all the machinery in the distillery and its use.
In conclusion, there will be a tasting session with samples of all three distillates accompanied by sweet and savoury pairings.
At the end of the visit, the guide will accompany participants back to the meeting place.
The tasting includes the tasting of three locally produced distillates
Tasting of distillates is available for participants aged 18 years and over. Children are welcome, but please note that the distillery is set up with bottles on display and various glassware.
