Description

Experience a relaxing stay in Mamoiada, in the heart of Sardinia, and learn about the history of Sardinian masks with a visit to the Museum of Mediterranean Masks and a mask maker's workshop.
You will immerse yourself in an experience that will introduce you to the mysterious universe of traditional masks from Barbagia and the Western Mediterranean, starting in Mamoiada and passing through different localities to discover ancient propitiatory rituals related to agro-pastoral life. Accompanied by your guide, you will then reach the place where the masks of the Mamuthones come to life, in the workshop of an expert craftsman who will share with you the secrets and stages of his meticulous work. To fully espouse the concept of slow life typical of the villages of central Sardinia and live your visit in perfect tranquility, you will complete your experience with a comfortable overnight stay in a structure in the village.

VISIT PROGRAM

The visit program has a total duration of about 2 hours and is developed as follows:

  • Guided tour of the Mask Museum about 45 min
  • Moving on foot or by own car (in case of bad weather) to the mask maker's workshop, distance about 500m
  • Visit to the mask maker's workshop about 45 min
  • Return to the Mask Museum

AVAILABLE HOURS

It is possible to visit every day according to the following times: 10:00 am and 2:30 pm.

STAY

You will stay at one of the convenient contracted facilities on a roulette formula, the night before or after the experience. Check-in is available from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and you will need to communicate your arrival time to the number on your reservation voucher.
